Mein Auto hat heute mal Ruhetag. Da ich mein Quartier hier in Bad Tabarz aufgeschlagen habe, ist es nicht weit bis zum Lauchagrund. Also schnapp ich Kamera und Rucki und mach mich auf die Socken. Was für ein idyllisches Fleckchen Erde! Der Weg verläuft durch dichten Wald. Immer wieder tauchen gewaltige Felsmassive auf, und direkt neben dem Weg plätschert die Laucha vor sich hin.
My car is taking a rest day today. Since I’ve set up my base here in Bad Tabarz, it’s not far to the Lauchagrund. So, I grab my camera and backpack and set off. What an idyllic little spot on earth! The path winds through dense forest. Massive rock formations loom into view again and again, while right alongside the path, the Laucha babbles gently along.
Und während ich so vor mich hin laufe, die Natur genieße und mich vom Plätschern des Wassers einlullen lasse, beschleicht mich ein Gefühl des Erkennens. Hier war ich doch schon mal…
Vor ziemlich genau 50 Jahren waren meine Eltern mit mir hier in Tabarz im Urlaub. Damals sind wir von Tabarz aus zum Inselsberg hochgelaufen. Was für mich als fünfjähriger Knopp ne janz schöne Tour war. Ganz bestimmt hat uns der Weg damals hier durch den Lauchagrund geführt. Und so wird meine Liebe dazu, beim Laufen durch den Wald von einem Bach begleitet zu werden, wohl hier ihren Ursprung haben. Da ist dann wohl die Laucha dran „schuld“.
And as I stroll along, enjoying nature and letting the gentle lapping of the water lull me into a sense of calm, a feeling of recognition steals over me. I’ve been here before... Almost exactly fifty years ago, my parents and I vacationed here in Tabarz. Back then, we hiked up to the Inselsberg from Tabarz. For me—a little five-year-old sprout—that was quite a trek. The path back then must surely have led us right through the Lauchagrund. And so, my love for being accompanied by a stream while walking through the woods likely has its origins right here. I suppose the Laucha is "to blame" for that.
Eine Attraktion im Lauchagrund ist das Backofenloch. Dieses konnte ich mir natürlich nicht entgehen lassen!

Weiter ging´s durch das wildromantische Felsenthal. Gigantische Felsmassive, auf denen riesige Bäume wachsen. Da hatte ick janz schön Mühe, diese aufs Bild zu kriegen.

Auch hier im Felsenthal fehlt der vor sich hin plätschernde Bach nicht.
Here in the rocky valley, too, the gently babbling brook is not missing.
Ein weiteres Highlight im Lauchagrund ist der mächtige Torstein, ein 6m hohes Felsentor.
