So ne Halbinsel hat ja außer Strand auch noch andere schöne Ecken zu bieten. Von Prerow aus ging´s bei super Wetter durch die Wiesen Richtung Wiek. Den Weg teilt man sich mit Radfahrern, was völlig unkompliziert ist. Man läuft durch dieses satte Grün, die Sonne glitzert in den Gräben, einfach nur schön und entspannend. Es gibt zwei Aussichtsplattformen, von denen man Blick auf den Lychensee und auf einen See mit dem passenden Namen Der See hat.
A peninsula like this has more to offer than just the beach. From Prerow, we set off in fantastic weather through the meadows towards Wiek. The path is shared with cyclists, which is perfectly straightforward. You walk through this lush greenery, the sun glitters in the ditches – simply beautiful and relaxing. There are two viewing platforms offering views of Lake Lychen and another lake aptly named "Der See" (The Lake).
Sehr zu empfehlen ist der Rundweg Darßer Ort. Jut, da is dann doch ein bissel Strand dabei, aber Weststrand jeht ja bekanntlich immer. Auf dem Rundweg geht´s auf Bohlenstege zum Teil durch Dünen und vorbei an Otto- und Libbertsee. Dort findet man auch mehrere Aussichtsplattformen, und mit ein bissel Glück kriegt man Seeadler zu sehen.
The Darßer Ort circular trail is highly recommended. Okay, there's a bit of beach involved, but as everyone knows, the Weststrand is always a good option. The trail follows boardwalks, partly through dunes and past the Otto and Libbert lakes. There are several viewing platforms along the way, and with a bit of luck, you might spot a white-tailed eagle.
Auf dem Rundweg kommt man am Leuchturm Darßer Ort vorbei. Da lohnt sich der Aufstieg, denn von oben hat man einen tollen Ausblick auf den Weststrand.
The circular route takes you past the Darßer Ort lighthouse. It's worth climbing up, as you have a fantastic view of the West Beach from the top.
Und was macht man, wenn man im Morgengrauen wach wird und die Nacht vorbei ist? Na dit Beste draus, Kamera schnappen und ab auf die Seebrücke in Prerow den Sonnenaufgang gucken. Einfach nur schön!
And what do you do when you wake up at dawn and the night is over? Make the most of it, grab your camera and head to the pier in Prerow to watch the sunrise. Simply beautiful!
Aus diesem Urlaub bin ich gesund und munter nach Hause gekommen. Ein wunderschöner Urlaub, es gab lecker Fischbrötchen, ich hab am Weststrand entspannt im warmen Sand gedöst und bin so einiges an Kilometern gelaufen (mein Schrittzähler hat gefeiert). Mit jedem Besuch schleicht sich diese Halbinsel tiefer in mein Herz. Und janz ehrlich, bei der Abreise hatte ich ein kleines Tränchen im Knopploch.

I returned home safe and sound from this vacation. It was a wonderful holiday; I enjoyed delicious fish sandwiches, relaxed on the warm sand at the west beach, and walked quite a few kilometers (my pedometer was celebrating). With each visit, this peninsula steals a deeper place in my heart. And to be honest, I even shed a tear when I left. Goodbye Darß, see you again soon!
