Der Doniswald wurde vor 160 Jahren der erste Kurpark in Königsfeld. Hier findet man ne Kneippanlage, Bänke zum Ausruhen und auf Tafeln wird man über die Flora und Fauna informiert. So weit, so gut, das findet man woanders auch. Warum also sollte man dem Doniswald einen Besuch abstatten, was macht ihn so besonders?
Mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit warten hier schon Eichhörnchen auf die Nüsse, die man beim Besuch des Waldes in der Tasche haben sollte. Man kommt ihnen beim Füttern ziemlich nahe, manchmal wuseln gleich mehrere der putzigen Tierchen um einen herum. Unermüdlich sind die kleinen Flitzer dabei, die Nüsse für den Winter zu verbuddeln oder gleich an Ort und Stelle zu verputzen.

Here, you will find a Kneipp hydrotherapy facility, benches for resting, and information boards detailing the local flora and fauna. So far, so good—but you can find things like that elsewhere, too. So why pay a visit to the Doniswald? What makes it so special? In all likelihood, squirrels will already be waiting here for the nuts—which you really ought to have in your pocket when visiting the woods. You can get quite close to them while feeding them; sometimes, several of these cute little creatures will be scurrying all around you at once. These speedy little critters work tirelessly, either burying the nuts for the winter or simply gobbling them up right on the spot. What an experience—and not just for children!
